Batman remained at the top of the charts in 1967, which again found nine of the Top 10 titles coming from DC. But Spider-Man's climb continued, and by now Marvel's 11 titles with Statements were selling almost on a par with Archie's 11 titles.

Another 1960s TV sensation, The Flintstones, had given Gold Key a bright spot a couple of years before; now, beginning to gray, it still outsold most of the publisher's titles. It was a hard time for humor comics in general, with Uncle Scrooge and Walt Disney's Comics & Stories now at close to a quarter of their sales just seven years earlier and Dennis the Menace off nearly 40% in just four years. Even DC found the going tough, with Fox & Crow nearly at the bottom of the list.

Among other genres, it's hard to say which standby was having a worse time: romance titles, westerns, or war titles. Sadly for Charlton, it had all three and not much else!

DC's figures were rounded to the nearest hundred, while others show all the digits. This is how it was in the Statements themselves, and it was common for publishers to go back and forth on how they recorded them.

More Statements of Ownership were found earlier from 1967 than from any other year. That's in part due to one of fandom's most comprehensive early works, "Analyses of Comic Book Circulation Figures" by Gail Sutton in her fanzine, Mount to the Stars #1 (Spring 1970). It's worth noting that, while I and the contributors to my past works have added information for 1967 from the actual Statements, I have only found two Statements not reported in her original work.

Magazines with comics content (like Mad) are sorted separately at the bottom.
