February 1994 Comic Book Sales to Comics Shops

February saw the fallout from the 1993 peak of the comics market continuing. DC's dollar market share at Diamond was down to 17%. Both Diamond and Capital City had the same top-seller, X-Men #31.

The major news in comics during the month was the death of Jack Kirby on Feb. 6. The legendary creator was 76.

A rare major convention in February, the New York Comic Book Spectacular, was staged the weekend of the 11th; the snowbound convention saw the announcement of an Archie/Punisher crossover.
